Members of the City Networks Task Force address how the deployment of smart city infrastructure and robust communications networks can effectively deliver key public services to citizens by increasing efficiencies in transportation, public safety, digital inclusion, sustainability – while at the same time, supporting economic development.
Our objective is to educate and empower stakeholders as they work to deploy and operate the wireless and wireline broadband networks that are essential to smart city applications.
Key focus areas of the City Networks Task Force include:
• Educate city leaders, government officials, industry professionals and other key stakeholders about available wireless technologies and the benefits, challenges and opportunities of smart city deployments.
• Advocate for federal, state and local governments’ adoption of best practices, including regulations that spur investment and streamline deployment of wireless technologies.
• Drive business development opportunities for industry leaders including vendors/OEMs, network operators, infrastructure owners, system integrators, professional engineering firms, universities, public/private laboratories, standards development bodies, utilities, and capital investment firms.
